Glendale Community College Upper Parking Lot Parking Structure
The Glendale Community College Parking Structure is roughly 300 feet long and 150 feet wide and provides an additional 800 parking spaces on six floors. An elevator tower and bridge carries students and visitors from the main campus to the parking structure. Mountain Street was improved to provide easy access to the new concrete & steel structure and a signal was installed at the entrance to the structure to increase safety.
A joint venture between the College and Glendale Water & Power is a $ 2.8 million solar system installed on the fourth and sixth floors, generating approximately 580,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually and providing shaded parking.
MTGL provided the Material Inspections and Laboratory Testing Services for the Glendale Community College Parking Structure project. This included soils testing during construction, testing and inspection of structural concrete, post tensioning, masonry, steel and fireproofing along with Laboratory Testing of soil materials, cylinders, block, post tension cables and fireproofing density tests.
